Post Diep - Post Fat Grafting

Hello God, Hi Everyone,

This past Monday, I had Phase 2 of my breast reconstruction. Which consisted of liposuction of my flanks, hips and thigh, along with the abdomen incision. The fat was used to create symmetry of the two breasts.

I don't see where I've written about any of the past year ... since finding out that I had inherited the breast cancer gene mutation, BRCA2.

September 9, 2014, I think ... I had the double mastectomy. My breast tissue was removed;, thankfully, it was evaluated that the nipples could remain. Many women aren't able to keep their nipples due to breast cancer or because of bad nipple placement for the reconstructed breast. The skin held breast expanders, almost like a place holder for the skin.

February 11, 2015 I think, I had the breast reconstruction. Two options, well three if you count just leaving them flat, are available: Implants, which I had heard of before and DIEP, where they take fat, skin, blood vessels, remove the expanders and replace with this skin to form the breasts.

Most have one long 12 hour procedure. Mines were broken up to give the nipples a chance to serve and the transplant of tissue and blood vessels a chance to serve.

This past Monday, I had Phase 2: Fat grafting and liposuction to fill in the breasts and add symmetry.

Thank you God for the surgeons.

Haven't decided whether to post pics or not ...
