Surprisingly - I Don't Feel Any Better

 Hi God,

I saw him today. He was at the other end of the block and I was walking towards that direction. He stopped and looked. Readjusted his stance, and looked again. Is that her? That's what it felt like. I didn't say anything. I could have confirmed that yes its me! But, no I couldn't. He hasn't called at all.

I feel sick to my stomach over Swoop.

I don't know why.

Love please

G "Swoop" J

Dear God,

Geez my chest is so full, tight ...like I'm holding it all in. My stomache hurts. No appetitie. I'm sad.  I'm crying, tearing.

I've been blocking and unblocking your number throughout the day.

I don't even know you, nothing about you ... So, I'm sure God that perhaps it was a chance meeting, that was like tumbleweed, rolling along fast. Was it to teach me something? Show me something?

All I have is the back story.

Going to work ... I'm back in DC. Left Atlanta in Sept. Riding the Metro ... my card wasn't working. I knew I had money on it. The employee was coming to help, and this tall, really tall, dark and handsome man said ... I'll help her. I am personally going to walk you to your building.

The next time I saw you .... you were taking me to lunch?? I don't remember .... What I do remember is meeting you in the lobby. I was waiting with my back to door. You came up behind me, hugged me around the waist. I cupped your hands. I'm sure I had the biggest surprise smile on my face. "Hi Dear, How's your day going? Kids got off to school ok? Then you turned me around to face you and you kissed me ... the way two people in love kiss each other.

It was perfect. Spontaneously perfect. Peanut butter and jelly. Then it wasn't.

You made plans. I'll come get you on Thursday. You didn't. Later, explaining your Mom fell and needed to go to the hospital. Family always first.

To make it up, the next time we saw each other at work ... you drove me home, stopped for an early dinner, then to the house. We kissed on the street, horns blews, whistlers celebrated our public display of affection. You came in, walked around, looked at the projects, the work that needed to be done. You could help me with this, help me save some money ... that's what you said.

You felt so comfortable, so safe. I don't know why I trusted it, you, so quickly.

You talked about coming to ATL. I offered the invitation. You didn't come.

Later, a phone call that you were in Paris for work.

Later, I met you for a brief lunch ... I had a meeting. I briefly kissed you. That's the last time.

I call. I text. I whatsapp. Nothing.

You email me from your work email that your in Israel, be back Friday.

Speak to you Saturday. We'll talk tomorrow. I'll see you tomorrow

Sunday, I text you. You text, I'll call you in 5 min. No call. No show.

Three times you were no call, no show. The third time, no apology.

It's Tuesday morning @ 1am, why is this foolishness on my brain? Why is it keeping me up?

This is What I Think:

5 years after Sean, I miss being a wife, a companion to my husband. Swoop moved so quickly around me, grab me up and held me close. It was the first time I felt part of a union again. Until I wasn't.

There's a feeling of abandonment. Being discarded. Disposable. I don't know you to credit you with all of this. There has to be some unresolved issues from my marriage, my childhood ... I don't know.

What I do know is that I always want to be honest. I want the best my God has to offer. You have not demonstrated that you are. But, I feel you are and that I'm getting it all wrong. Then, that's me not wanting to believe what I have already experienced.

I'm surprised because he's a youth coach, girls basketball, football. He's a father to both a son and a daughter. You've been, or are, a husband.

The red flags are there and I'm better off for it. Perhaps this opened my eyes is to how vulnerable I am.

God continue to watch over me please,

Love always, Yo

Wow - No Writings Since 2021

 Hi God,

Its not like I didn't have anything to write ... just doesn't feel the same to know that Sean could possibly be reading my entries. Feels invasive .... Like I have to watch what or how I write.

Desire, A Longing

 God,

I have known the security of arms that surrounded me with strength, providing me an enveloping sense of comfort and safety. I could sleep, slumber next to him.

I know how every worry can be made into peace laying together holding each other, walking and holding of hands, in the car holding hands or resting on him somewhere, his on my thigh, and gentle kisses that says I'm here ... right in front of you. I got you.

I got you. The words whether man or woman ... is what we desire and long for.

It's unconditional and steadfast. At least, that's what I believed and trusted.

When its no longer there ... it leaves a void, an emptiness, a pain, a disbelief. My body goes into withdrawal; it feels him missing.

God,

My prayer is that you heal me. There's no greater love than yours. It's kind, gentle, sensual, honest, unconditional; it's all.

I am so grateful knowing  that your love will never forsake me.

Your love never hurts, gives pain, or betrays.

God, Your Word says there no greater gift than love.

God, bless me a steadfast, uncompromising, unconditional -  love like yours.

New Garments

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"Provide for those who grieve…a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor."

Isaiah 61:3, NIV

TODAY'S WORD:

Do you need a new garment today? Not a new physical garment, but what's covering your mind and emotions. Are you clothed with despair and disappointment? Are you wearing “heaviness?” If you’ve gone through a hurtful situation, the Bible says there is a time to grieve, and it’s important to release that hurt to the Lord. But the Bible also tells us that God wants to give you a garment of praise instead of a spirit of heaviness and despair.

Are the garments of yesterday weighing you down and holding you back? It’s time for a new garment. The garment of praise is light and filled with peace and joy. Don’t carry those heavy burdens around anymore. Choose to forgive those who have hurt you and praise God for what He’s doing in your life today. Thank Him for restoring you, even if you don’t see it yet. Just like this verse says, you will be as strong and secure as a tall oak tree, displaying His splendor all the days of your life!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Heavenly Father, I come to You today and ask that You take off my old, heavy garments of despair and heaviness. Make me new today. Give me a garment of praise so that I can display Your glory and splendor in Jesus’ name. Amen."

Praise God! Have a blessed day!❤️

In Jesus name,

Amen, Yo

Ridiculousness

Good morning God,

It's 12:02am, awake and unable to sleep as has been a condition since my mom's transition.

A couple of weeks ago, I received a text from my husband. "Undoubtedly you are seeing someone." What the heck are you talking about I replied.

I tried calling him twice. No answer. I sent a text. Tried calling.

Sean sends another text. Not remembering it all, except ... "....so I can get rid of you and you can get rid of me ..." Who sends such a text?

I've stopped saving Sean's texts.

Reminds me of when he sent the divorce papers, my name misspelled, as a response to my not signing the refinance paperwork.

When I did speak to Sean, I reiterated that I had not asked or prayed to "get rid of him." It was my hope that he would remember why he married me. I did remind and promise him if God saw fit to dissolve this marriage, I would be obedient.

I will continue to be a good wife till then. In my obedience, I hope to be blessed with a husband that loves me, protects me, teaches me, and provides for me.

Surely, if and when that prayer of happiness is answered,  I promise Sean will the first call I make.

From my heart to God's ear,

Yo

CLOSED DOORS

 Good morning, God!

Father God, thank You so much for every shut door that You did not allow me to reopen and for all of the open doors that You blessed me to go through.   Amen

"Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”  Isaiah 30:21

“Consider when God closed that door, He knew you deserved so much more.”  Doors open and doors shut in life.  There have been times in my life when I stepped up to a door excited about the possibilities of what was on the other side.  All was good until I stepped back outside the door. Suddenly, it shut behind me and there was no reopening it.  That surprised me because I was sure this was the right move.  I did not understand what was happening.  Before I was knowledgeable enough in the Word, I would get frustrated because I was pretty sure this idea, vision, thought or dream was from God.  He is not a cruel God who blesses us and then snatches it from us.  I have heard people say they were given things and then the giver either threw it up in your face repeatedly until you just returned it,  or they asked for it back.

That is so not how God blesses us.  He wants to bless us with good.  He wants to prosper us.  He wants us to be happy and at peace and He wants it to all be permanent.  If a door opens and then shuts, it may just be that the timing is off or you are just not in the place God needs you to be to go through that door.  Yes, it hurts when that open door you have been waiting on shuts but here is the deal.  Never look at it as a bad thing.

Thank God that I have someone who can see beyond the natural and knows what is good and not good for me because for me, those shut doors were right on point.  They should have been shut.  Amen!

Have a blessed day!❤️

I love you always,  Yo

INTEGRITY VS LOYALTY

 Good morning God,

Good Friday to all

Loyalty, in general use, is a devotion and faithfulness to a nation, cause, philosophy, country, group, or person. Philosophers disagree on what can be an object of loyalty, as some argue that loyalty is strictly interpersonal and only another human being can be the object of loyalty.

Integrity is the practice of being honest and showing a consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles and values. In ethics, integrity is regarded as the honesty and truthfulness or accuracy of one's actions.

God, I pray you continue to guide me in a life that exemplifies a life lived with integrity. Loyalty, it sounds like a good character trait ... but what I've just experienced ... I rather have persons around me whose character leads them, and not because:

We've, Friend 1 and Friend 2, known each since we were kids ... we were so close as kids, I (Friend 1) was always at his (Friend 2) house, we shared the same bathtub at 4 years old.  His family, his mom looked out for me. We're brothers in every sense of the word, except by blood.

Integrity says that you will lead with your conscious, with a sense of right or wrong ... whether you know the person or not, whether someone's looking or you alone ... You do the right thing even when no ones looking.

Friend 1 asked me to befriend Friend 2. Friend 2, is wheelchair bound and had been a really good friend to Mom. They needed each other's company. I tried to give support to his friend, just as I did for my Mom. Putting the support services in place where I saw gaps: occupational therapy, CNA services, psychiatric services, food delivery, and GOOD nurses - not the ones who only work when someone's looking. I was asked by Friend 2 to contact Relative 1 (brother) bringing him up to speed on Friend 2 medical, home health services, legal matters, etc. This was me passing the baton to Relative 1, after Friend 1 refused to take it.

Friend 2 talks up Relative 1 describing a man of good character, a pillar in the community, ol'school, and showing up as real man. Friend 2 - I can't wait for you to meet my brother. When Friend 1 learns of the introduction, he feels Friend 2 has been disloyal to orchestrate the exchanging numbers, believing there's an alternate agenda.

Friend 1 began, in anger, spewing insults about Relative 1, then retracting them ... I shouldn't have said that. I mistook this as jealousy, followed by what I thought was remorse .... Aesop's Fable, Sour Grapes. Later, learning that I was mistaken. It was loyalty. Loyalty to Friend 2.

Relative 1 showed no interest in his brother.. Integrity. To date, Relative 1 hasn't pick it up either.

I was never a consideration of neither. I only cared about Friend 1. For 2 months, he refused to speak to me. I thought we were more than that. He broke my heart; he broke my spirit. In a matter of minutes I became "irrelevant."

Friend 1 argued disloyalty, yet: you are a serial cheater in your past and present relationships. Have you ever had an honest relationship where you didn't cheat? No

Why did I expect respect and integrity from you? Loyalty vs Integrity.

I would later learn from the spouse (Relative 2) of Friend 2 that Relative1 was an abuser with a history of physically beating up his second wife on multiple occasions, taking money from women - Friend 2's nurses ... having them send/wire money then ghost them, never paying them back. Integrity vs Loyalty.

The comments Friend 1 had started to warn me of, but decided in the moment that his loyalty to Friend 2 was more important than his integrity as a man: a Protector, a Provider, a Teacher. He missed a moment of redemption for past transgressions.

I was suppose to be Friend 3 to Friend 1. Friend 1's loyalty to Friend 2 kept him from seeing me as a vulnerable woman, his mother, his daughter, his sister that was walking towards harm's way, and decided to retract what had actually been truthful, ethically leading, acting with integrity, and deciding to turn a blind-eye to what could have potentially happend when no one was watching. I could have ended up in the hospital or dead, trying to assist Friend 1's friend.Thank you God.

God, you protect me when no ones does or cares to do the same for me. You've protected me from Sean. Thank you. You protected me from yet what could have ended in tragedy, deceit, and preyed upon.

I haven't shared what Relative 2 told me. There's no need. Friend 1 wasn't a friend any longer at the moment he retracted what would have been a warning; the right thing to do.

I write it here.

As always, I love you Jesus and thank you for sacrificing Your life for me. I believe in Your resurrection.

Jesus lives!

Yo

God thank you for your continuing covering and spirit of discernment. Thank you for when my heart wants one thing and you want something else, someone else, for me.

Mom Died Thanksgiving Day

 God,

I want to thank you for the time spent with Mom. Thank you for the time to build a strong bridge between us. I miss her so very much.

I love you Mom

Thanks God

Why?

Good morning God,

I am woman, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, friend .... and the list goes on. All which I think I try my earnest to do well, and earnestly don't feel successful at any of these relastionships .... forgot one, wife. Hmm I didn't even think of this one as I was listing.

Why am I continuing getting my heart broken?

Why cannot I ever feel safe with the man I'm laying with forever? Sean, Bennett, Michael, Alfred, Gregory.

I watched Dee come to see my Mom everyday after work until the day she died.  He could pick her up and reposition her in her bed. He called her everyday. "You need anything." Yogi, "I got you." Something women want to hear. Then he would come and check on me. Get out of this apartment. Let's go for a drive.

God, I'll be checking back!

Love you, Yo

Irreconcilable Differences --- No! The Ultimate Ultimatum

Good morning God,

Thank you for peace.

I had such a headache yesterday, after receiving Sean's paperwork for an amicable divorce, which includes taking my car!

He wants a divorce because I don't want sign refinance paperwork on a house that he purchased and moved in behind my back. You can sign the refinance papers or divorce papers?

How does a cheater, an adulterer, request a no fault divorce?

I thank you Lord for putting the people and knowledge needed around me.

Marriage Challenges

Good evening God,

Reading an article about Michelle and Barack Obama. Married for 30 years.

Michelle, "People aren't perfect. Marriages are hard."

“You’ve got to know that there are going to be times ―
long periods of time ― when you can’t stand each other,”
she said, joking that, “There were times that I wanted to push
Barack out of the window. And I say that, because it’s like,
you’ve got to know the feelings will be intense. But that
doesn’t mean you quit.”
Michelle Obama added that “these periods can last a long
time,” even years, in a relationship. But that’s no reason to
throw the towel in.
My husband should read this ..... but, then again ... this is his third.
In God I trust, Yo

Mom

These days are much more difficult than I ever expected.

I don't know how to help her with comfort. How to help her with the pain. I have monitors to check in on her visually. She can hardly sleep.

This disease, breast cancer, diagnosed in 2014. Double mastectomy and reconstruction. First her and soon after, me. She a survivor; me a previvor.

The Emory doctors have extended her life about 2 years since we've come to Atlanta. I never saw this day coming. I guess I thought she would never look frail or become child like. She also been so independent with such a "its my life and I'm going to choose how to live it" attitude.

The doctor is now using "hospice" in her conversations with us about options.

Parts of me feel that I should take her home where there would be help. Other parts of me, feels like I should keep her around familiarity and Emory.

I just don't know.

Lord, I'm here. Continue to guide and direct me as You always have.

Yolanda

Ermea Russell - NO. 2016-BR-01807-SCT

ERMEA RUSSELL - Click for the full story!

SUSPENDED - Click

Decided: July 25, 2015

EN BANC. ATTORNEY FOR APPELLANT: ERMEA J. RUSSELL (PRO SE) ATTORNEY FOR APPELLEE: ADAM BRADLY KILGORE
¶1. Appellant Ermea J. Russell files a Petition for Reinstatement to the practice of law following a ten-month suspension. Because Russell's petition fails to meet the jurisdictional requirements for reinstatement, we deny her request.
FACTS & PROCEDURAL HISTORY
¶2. On July 10, 2015, Russell was suspended for ten months resulting from a Formal Complaint filed at the request of former clients. Based on nine separate informal complaints, the Mississippi Bar found that Russell had failed to provide representation for which she was hired, return client property, and properly withdraw from representation of her clients. These informal complaints indicated her lack of diligence and lack of communication regarding her clients' legal representation. Through its investigations, the Complaint Tribunal found seven violations of Rules 1.16(d), 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and 8.1 of the Mississippi Rules of Professional Conduct, which resulted in her suspension.

CONCLUSION
¶18. We find that Ermea J. Russell has not successfully shown the Court that she has met the jurisdictional requirements outlined in Rule 12 of the Mississippi Rules of Discipline. As she has failed to meet these requirements, we are not convinced that Russell exhibits both the moral and professional rehabilitation necessary to be reinstated to the practice of law. As a result, we deny Russell's petition for reinstatement and bar the petitioner from filing another request for reinstatement until one year after the date of this decision, pursuant to Rule 12.6 of the Mississippi Rules of Discipline.
¶19. PETITION FOR REINSTATEMENT DENIED.
BEAM, JUSTICE, FOR THE COURT:
WALLER, C.J., DICKINSON AND RANDOLPH, P.JJ., KITCHENS, KING, COLEMAN AND CHAMBERLIN, JJ., CONCUR. MAXWELL, J., NOT PARTICIPATING.

No Ma'am,

As I explained to him.  Transparency,  xxxxx purchased the home behind my back, reporting to the VA as being single,  at the direction of his ex-wife (an attorney), again he refinanced and took the equity without my knowledge.  He was able to do all that without me.

When I got this employment opportunity,  xxxxx demanded I remove all personal belongings,  even my second car threatening to tow.

He took away my home.

Hurricane Laura

Hi God,

Thank you for life, my mom's, my children, my friends, mines .... Thank you

So, its been almost three weeks since I talked to my husband. Last time, I'm still protesting being asked to sign refinancing the house. Him, sign the paperwork for the house or sign divorce papers. I said I needed to go to answer another call coming in.

Today, I called him to check on Hurricane Laura and if whether he's being impacted. I commented despite being angry with me ... He said he wasn't .... I stated we hadn't talked since the last discussion regarding the house. I guess angry would be better than the indifference I heard in his vice, at least he felt something. But, he doesn't .. he could care less...more of the same.

I didn't do what he wanted ... Sign my name, my credit, my income over to him ... a quick claim deed .... I don't know what he is up to, but it doesn't sound like he has "us" in mind. It is about Sean. I guess all that regret he expressed. How he didn't go to our God, for guidance, he just reacted selfishly ... has dissipated.

I prayed for the Lord God to fix my husband, my marriage or give me a window, a door, an escape to get out. He did. If Sean wanted to fix this marriage, then, he would have made an effort. He tore it down and he should be the rebuilder .... Amen

I was calling and wanted to make sure he was okay. He said it was sunny, no rain. I said I was just checking in and wished I had called earlier if he wanted to evacuate to Atlanta. Didn't want him to be there alone if there was damage.

He said, "Alone?" I made no comment. His question implied ... Why should you assume that I am alone. And he's right. He's started back at the gym. That where he started most of his affairs. So, old Sean returns.

Few more comments from me and then said I said good-bye.

Scars aren't reminders of what's broken; rather, they are reminders of what's newly created.

Thank you God,
Yo
